Learn More About What We Believe:
Are there
answers out there?
Where am
I going in life?
How can I get from today to tomorrow?
What if I
keep messing up?
Where do
we go with the Whys and Hows and So Whats? With all the self-help
gurus and different religions, how do
we know what or who to believe?
Many claim to have answers, but what’s the truth?
I don’t
know about you, but I’ve searched and probed and
pondered. I’ve wondered what psychics, stars, cards and cold
statues can really offer. After all, in a group of four, you could
have at least 5 opinions. Can they all be right? Or is there something
more?
Then I met
some Christians, people who follow Jesus. They weren’t
perfect and didn’t claim to know all the answers, but they stood
apart. They had a peace, a hope, a confidence. I wanted to know more…
Who
is this Jesus?
These Christians turned out to be from a Lutheran church, where
my friend had gone for answers some years before.
So what about
Lutherans…?
Through them, I discovered something
that transformed my life. A means of finding answers, sure,
but more than that… I
found something that put my questions into perspective:
My past is
forgiven, my present can be lived with confidence, and my future
is guaranteed!
I found out
that God, the creator of the universe, made me. Not only did he
create me, but he knows me, and loves me!
Even though I’m
often clueless and messing up my life, God sent his only son to rescue
me.
He’s called the Savior…my Savior!
It’s all about
Jesus, believing in Jesus alone. (We can’t
make ourselves right with God, but God forgives us and gives us life
in Jesus.)
Faith Alone
It’s about the Bible, and the Bible alone as the
source of truth about God. (People wrote down the words God gave them;
they are what
God wants us to know about his love for us and how we are to live.
It’s the best source of truth there is.)
Bible Alone
And it’s about my new favorite word: Grace, and Grace
alone. (It’s God’s love without strings attached that
cleanses me of guilt and shame for all the times I fail and live selfishly.
It’s the unconditional love of God that draws us close
to him, for forever.)
Grace Alone
I don’t deserve it. I can’t
earn it…and its mine
forever. This free gift is ours as believers in Jesus as the
only Son of God, our one and only Savior.
I’m thankful I kept asking questions. I’m thankful
I found these answers—
Faith alone, Bible alone, Grace alone.
If you want to know more…it’s worth asking.
